After the huge success of AYTW 2007, 2008, Atelier Theatre this year brings, Atelier’s 3rd Youth Theatre Week 2009; scheduled for Nov 15 – 21, 2009 across venues in Delhi. The festival will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Smt. Shiela Dixit, on the 15th Nov, followed by a play performance.
Celebrating the tremendous growth of theatre lovers, of which we take partial blame of, we are geared up for yet another edition of AYTW, with a lot of adaptation. This year we got an enormous response from theatre groups from Delhi, Mumbai, Himachal, Rajasthan, Jammu, Assam and Manipur. The University of Delhi segment has shown the same excitement as the last two years. The total number of entries we received this time has crossed 80, including college teams.
This year we have five days for campus theatre with two days exclusively in the University of Delhi, along with performances by famous professional groups. All in all bringing professionals and youth closer to each other.
The added attraction this year is the special guests who will talk to college participants after the campus performances. Eminent personalities from the world of theatre and movies, Saurabh Shukla, Viany Pathak, Piyush Mishra have confirmed their presence. Famous actor Gul Panag is also expected to join the audience. We are also expecting a large number of professionals from various walks of life from across the nation to join the youth in this fiesta.
