The first and the only Australian filmmaker of Indian origin Satish Rai stated that filmmaking is beyond cinematography, the sound track and acting. It is like creating symphony out of so many instruments put in a particular chord. It is the filmmaker who decides the chord according to his understanding of the audience. He was invited by the International Film & Television Research Centre to share his experience of acting, directing and producing films in Australia, with the students of Asian Academy of Film & TV. Satish Rai is currently in India to shoot a film. Addressing the students of the Academy he said that the film industry in Australia is in a nascent stage and it offers great opportunity for producing films and television programs. He disclosed that he is also looking for a suitable cast in India for his feature film about Indians who had migrated several centuries ago to the Fiji Island, Surinam and Trinidad Tobago etc. Satish Rai extended an invitation through the co-chairman of the Entertainment Committee of PHD Chambers of Commerce & Industry Sandeep Marwah to the Indian filmmakers to shoot their film in Australia. He offered all possible help and support of to the Indian filmmakers in Australia. On this occasion Satish Rai also accepted the life membership of the International Film & Television Research Centre.
