Celebrated filmmaker and Joint Director Asian School of media Studies Ashok Tyagi has predicted that Delhi is all set to become the next filmmaking centre for Bollywood directors.
Tygai, himself a successful director of films like Surkhiyan, Return Of Jewel Thief and Bharat Bhagya Vidhata discussed and debate the potential of the national capital in becoming an ideal setting for shooting at a workshop: ‘Delhi, the Next Bollywood’ conducted during the fourth Global Film Festival, Noida 2011 organised at Marwah Studios.
Sandeep Marwah, President of the festival said that his studios are already being used by Bollywood directors and production companies for last two decades and he is ready to provide any other facilities required.
Ashok Tyagi elaborated to a packed workshop that Delhi monuments like Humayun’s Tomb, gardens like Lodi and havelis of Chandni Chowk have already been extensively used in Hindi films. He said the historical and modern ambience of Delhi provide a perfect backdrop the film makers.
