22nd Indo–US Economic Summit Focuses on Transforming Higher Education. New Delhi, India: The 22nd Indo–US Economic Summit, held at Hotel Leela Palace, featured a powerful and insightful session on Higher Education titled “Bridging Borders: Advancing Education and Skills for a Shared Global Future.” The session brought together distinguished leaders from academia, government, and industry to deliberate on the future of global education, skill development, and Indo–US collaboration.
The session was chaired by Dr. W. Selvamurthy, who set the tone for an engaging dialogue on transforming education to meet global standards and emerging industry needs. He emphasized the importance of international cooperation and innovative learning models.
Key speakers included: Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, Association of Indian Universities (AIU), who highlighted the growing need for global exchange programs, international research collaborations, and cross-border curriculum integration.
Prof. Dr. T. G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE, who spoke about AICTE’s initiatives to upgrade technical education, foster entrepreneurship, and harmonize Indian higher education with international benchmarks. Mr. Parth Sarthi Sen Sharma, IAS, ACS Basic and Secondary Education, who underlined the importance of strengthening foundational education and building a seamless path to higher learning and skill-based training. Dr. Lalit Bhasin, who shared his expertise on legal education, academic reforms, and policy frameworks needed to support India’s academic globalisation efforts.
Representing the media and creative sector, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chair of the Media and Entertainment Committee of IACC, addressed the gathering. He stated, “Education today must transcend boundaries. Media, communication, and creative arts play a key role in shaping global understanding. Strengthening Indo–US educational collaboration will open new avenues for innovation, skill development, and student empowerment.”
At the conclusion of the session, all esteemed panelists were presented with special mementos as a token of appreciation for their contributions to the Indo–US dialogue on education. Slovakia Recognises Dr. Sandeep Marwah for Strengthening Indo–Slovak Cultural Ties. New Delhi, India: During the ongoing Cultural Days of Slovakia in India, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chair of the Indo–Slovakia Film and Cultural Forum, was formally honoured by H.E. Robert Maxian, Ambassador of Slovakia to India, for his remarkable seven years of committed service to strengthening relations between India and the Republic of Slovakia.
The honour was presented in recognition of Dr. Marwah’s consistent leadership in promoting film, art, culture, and people-to-people engagement between the two nations through numerous initiatives, festivals, delegations, and cultural collaborations.
